Plagiarism and AI Use Policy

Historický obzor (Historical Horizon) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts must be original and properly acknowledge the ideas, words, data, images, and other materials obtained from other sources. The editorial team may use appropriate plagiarism detection tools and editorial assessment to identify substantial similarities or other concerns.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only as a supporting aid for activities such as language improvement, grammar correction, formatting, or other limited editorial assistance. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, arguments, sources, citations, and overall content of their manuscripts. AI tools must not be used to fabricate information, references, quotations, research data, or evidence.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because authorship requires human responsibility and accountability. Where AI has been used substantially in preparing the manuscript, authors should disclose its use appropriately. The editors may request clarification regarding the use of AI-generated or AI-assisted content.

Any suspected plagiarism, undisclosed substantial AI-generated content, fabricated references, or other forms of misconduct may result in rejection of the manuscript or further editorial action in accordance with accepted principles of publication ethics. If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, including issuing a correction, expression of concern, or retraction where warranted.
